About Us

Gallery 263 is a nonprofit art gallery in Cambridgeport, a residential neighborhood of Cambridge, MA. For artists of all mediums, our mission is to provide a place for them to show and sell their works, and interact with the community during openings, talks, and workshops. For the members of the local and regional community, Gallery 263 provides a place to come together, interact, meet, socialize, and strategize, all under the aegis of art. In addition to the fixed gallery viewing hours, Gallery 263 achieves the larger goals of facilitating community interaction and education by offering film and music events, artist workshops, and a creative space for area businesses and schools to rent for off-site functions.

The gallery is curated by Annie Newbold, a painter, illustrator and calligrapher, and David Craft, an artist and musician.

Annie works in a variety of media - from oil and acrylic on canvas, to ink and dye on fabric. While living and working as an artist in Japan in the 80's and 90's, Annie developed an appreciation for community-based artists' studios, and established Gallery 263 in this tradition.

David paints in watercolors and acrylics. He sings and writes for piano and guitar, taking inspiration from jazz, classical, and folk music. Read his blog here.
