263 Hybrids Application Instructions

Please compile TWO separate pdf documents following the instructions below.  Then, e-mail both pdf documents as attachments to: contact@gallery263.com by the opportunity deadline. Please see the instructions below to submit your application fee of $20. Fee also must be received by the opportunity deadline.

Title your Text File: “OrganizerLastName_ProjectTitle_Proposal_263Hybrids.pdf” and compile in the order of sections below

Basic Information

Please provide:

1. Your first name & last name

2. Address, city, state, zip, phone #, DOB

3. Title of Exhibit (can be renamed later)

4. How many artists are involved in your Hybrid?

5. Please summarize your proposal type as best you can. (ex. 1, “Art Exhibition & Performance”, ex.2: “Live Art Making & Poetry Slam”)

4. How do you plan to complete the payment for this opportunity? Please indicate one option: Online (Paypal/Credit Card), Check/cash mail or drop-off, or Artist Member (free). See bottom right of this page to make your payment.

Proposal Including (one page):
  1. title of your project
  2. names, e-mails and websites (when possible) of all artists to be included
  3. an explanation of the proposed project and its current stage of development
  4. a timeline of project development between the time of proposal and the pop-up time period
  5. discuss your cross-disciplinary interests and defend your chosen methods of presentation
  6. explain how Gallery 263 and the Cambridgeport community are a good fit for your proposal in terms of space and audience
  7. answer: how will the first three preparation days of your pop-up be used? (ex: rehearsal, installation, etc.)
  8. outline your event plans
Image List

Please provide a list that corresponds to the images/media that you provide in your “Images” document.

This information should include:

Artist, Title, media, dimensions, year

Please note any other important image details in your list as well as under each image (ex.1: “detail of audience participation”, ex.2: “sample layout of sculptures at Gallery 263”, etc.)

Max file size is 5MB for the Proposal Document

Document #2: Images

Title your Image File: “OrganizerLastName_ProjectTitle_Images_263Hybrids.pdf”.

You may include up to 15 Images and/or Video/Audio Media total (applies to both solo and group proposals).

  • Please place each image on its own individual page, in the order corresponding to your Image List
  • Also place Image List information underneath each corresponding image
  • Images should be sized large, one per individual page, and all images should be similarly sized
  • If submitting video/audio work, simply include links for online streaming in your Image List. Please do not include video stills in your Image document unless stills are the work to be exhibited.
  • Include floor plans/sketches/mockups of your work at Gallery 263, or any other media or planning that will help us to understand your proposal
  • If applicable, include images of relevant past work (made up to five years ago) and discuss its relationship to your proposal
  • Provide examples of work for every involved artist
  • All work submitted for exhibition must be from within the last two years. Exceptions may be possible upon request.

Max file size for the Image document is 10MB. Images should be high resolution (300 dpi) but compact (1000px dimension).

If you are dropping off cash or check at the gallery, you may do so at any time.  Feel free to use the mail slot in the exterior door if we are not present when you stop by.

Confirmation of Receipt of Your Application

You will receive an e-mail confirmation that we have received your application within 5 days of the time you that you submit.
